Peterborough chosen for first North America Cup at Memorial Centre
The City of Peterborough will host the inaugural International Indoor Junior Lacrosse (IIJL) North America Cup from Aug. 7 to 9 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, officials confirmed. The three-day tournament will bring national junior teams to the city as part of final selection processes for the 2026 IIJL World Under-18 Lacrosse Championships.
The compact schedule features three games between squads representing Canada, the United States and the Haudenosaunee. Organizers say the event is intended to give high-performance athletes further opportunity to stake a claim on a spot in the 23-player rosters for the world championship, while also offering developmental minutes to younger players who did not make initial tournament selections.
