“We did this the last municipal election, as well,” said Nicole Crosby, event coordinator for the chamber of commerce. “We were sold out at the Imperial Theatre and we had several thousand people watching the livestream.”
The two-night format separates the mayoral contest from council races, including seats that cover both city-only and city-county representation. Organisers say the arrangement is intended to give voters clearer opportunities to compare candidates on issues and priorities before they cast their ballots.
