The Abbotsford Police Department is urging members of the public to come forward with information after a single‑vehicle crash on Townshipline Road near Gladwin Road on the evening of July 7 left one person dead.
Investigation transferred to Major Crime Unit
Emergency crews responded at about 7 p.m. to find a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. Two occupants were extricated by first responders. Despite extensive life‑saving efforts, the passenger died at the scene; the driver was taken to hospital.
The inquiry has been assumed by the Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit (MCU), which is collaborating with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) to establish the factors that contributed to the collision.
Police request witnesses and footage
Investigators say several people may have been in the vicinity at the time of the crash or shortly afterwards and that their observations could help piece together what occurred. Police are also specifically seeking any CCTV or dash camera recordings that cover Townshipline Road near Gladwin Road around 7 p.m. on July 7.
