What happened
Police say the incident occurred on May 8, 2026, at about 10:15 p.m. Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Winges Road and Rowntree Dairy Road. When they arrived, investigators found multiple bullet holes in two businesses. One of the buildings was occupied at the time; authorities reported there were no injuries.

Following an investigation by FIT, officers executed search warrants on July 9, 2026 at residences in Markham and Toronto. A suspect was taken into custody and police say they seized a loaded firearm.
