Manitoba RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 25-year-old man from Steinbach who went missing after he was last heard from in the early morning hours of July 14.
Where and when he was last seen
Police say Cyrus Jones was believed to be in a field east of Blumenort, a community about 10 kilometres north of Steinbach. RCMP conducted ground patrols of the area and deployed a drone as part of the search but have not located him.
Description and clothing
- Name: Cyrus Jones, age: 25
- Height: 5 ft 9 in; weight: 200 lb
- Hair: short blond; facial hair: present
- Distinctive mark: a small birthmark (described as a dot) under his right eye
- Possible clothing: grey hooded sweatshirt or black T-shirt, black pants and black-and-white Nike shoes
- Possible vehicle: may be travelling on a dirt bike
Search efforts and public appeal
Steinbach RCMP say family members and officers are concerned for Jones’s well-being. The RCMP used a drone to search fields in the area and carried out standard patrols. Police are asking anyone who may have information about Jones’s whereabouts, or who saw someone matching his description in the Blumenort–Steinbach area after the early morning of July 14, to get in touch.
