Man found in culvert in north Hamilton; police call death a homicide

Hamilton police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was located inside a sewage culvert on the north end of Fruitland Road on the morning of July 15.

Emergency crews responded to reports of an unresponsive person at about 8:15 a.m.. The individual, identified by police as Taranpreet Singh Sidhu, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Sidhu had moved to Canada in 2022, worked as a truck driver in Brampton and had previously lived in Halifax.
