The Capital Regional District (CRD) is inviting residents to a free community event at Island View Beach on July 29, a day designed to introduce visitors to the park's shoreline ecosystems and to promote stewardship of a locally significant natural area.
What to expect
The drop-in event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the grassy area adjacent to the picnic shelter off Homathko Drive. CRD Regional Parks naturalists will be joined by an Indigenous cultural programmer and special guest organisations to lead games, crafts and activities aimed at connecting people with the creatures and plants that inhabit the beach.
