The Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC) of Cornwall and Area’s annual Bike-a-Thon concluded this year having raised $150,800 to support the centre’s operations and services, organisers said.
Major donors and local fundraising
Organisers reported the total included a $10,000 donation from event sponsor BMO. A recognition luncheon was held Wednesday at the Best Western Parkway Inn and Conference Centre to acknowledge top fundraisers and volunteers who helped deliver the event.

Clergy competition remains a fundraising engine
Organisers noted that roughly 88 per cent of the total was contributed by members of the Cornwall and Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) clergy community. The clergy have a long-standing friendly rivalry to see which congregation can raise the most for the CTC, and that pattern continued this year.
"President's award"
The Paquette family was presented with the President's award after their $9,000 fundraising effort, driven by cupcake sales. Event leaders also recognised a quintet of volunteers who have been involved with the Bike-a-Thon for decades.
Recognition and continuity
At the luncheon the centre honoured top fundraisers and supporters, including long-serving participants. A local member of the clergy maintained a streak as the event’s top individual fundraiser and was presented with the Chairman’s award.
