GMC has reworked option and package availability for the 2027 Yukon Elevation, making several previously optional items either standard, unavailable or available only within new package combinations. The alterations affect comfort, towing and accessory choices that prospective buyers in the territory and across Canada will want to consider before ordering.
What changed for 2027
Across all 2027 Yukon trim levels, bright front and rear door sill plates (RPO C3Q) are now standard. A number of dealer-fit and accessory items have been removed or altered: the previously dealer-installed Interior Protection Package (RGH) has been discontinued and the 1st- and 2nd-row all-weather floor mats (VAV) that were part of it are no longer offered separately. The Floor Liner Package (RGC), however, remains available and continues to include:
- 1st- and 2nd-row all-weather floor liners (RIA)
- 3rd-row floor liner (RIB)
- All-weather cargo mat (CAV)
Other equipment shifts include a change to the Black assist steps (BVE), which no longer include a Gloss Black insert, and the Rear Seat Media System (UW9) that no longer ships with two Bluetooth headphones.
Trailering and wheel options consolidated into packages
GMC has removed the Super Cruise & Trailering Package (PCL) from the Yukon option list for 2027. The Max Trailering Package (NHT) is now included only as part of the revised Elevation Premium Package (RGD) and is also available with the Elevation Preferred Package (PCX) content when ordering certain configurations. The Elevation Premium Package now additionally includes 22-inch polished aluminium wheels (SII), which on the Elevation trim are obtainable only through that package.

Seating, console and diesel pairing rules
Buyers can order second-row power-release bucket seats (ATN) without also selecting the power-sliding centre console (DCH), offering more flexibility in interior layout. But there are important restrictions when pairing seats with the Duramax turbodiesel 3.0L I6 LZ0 powertrain: to specify the diesel together with the second-row power-release buckets, purchasers must select either the Elevation Preferred Package (PCX) or the Elevation Premium Package (RGD). The Premium Package contains all content found in the Preferred Package.
Notably, the only way to obtain the power-sliding centre console on an Elevation is to order both the Elevation Preferred Package and the second-row power-release bucket seats.
What Yukon buyers should take away
For consumers in Yukon, where towing capabilities and durable interior finishes matter for seasonal travel and outdoor use, the consolidation of trailering hardware and certain wheel choices into higher-level packages could raise the cost of achieving a specific configuration. Similarly, the discontinuation of dealer-installed protection packages and some mat options means buyers should confirm included items at the time of order and consider the Floor Liner Package (RGC) if durable liners are a priority.
Dealers in the territory and customers ordering from outside urban centres will want to verify how these package changes affect lead times and pricing on vehicles that require the Duramax diesel or specific interior layouts.
These adjustments reflect GMC’s strategy for the 2027 model year to repackage features and limit stand-alone options, a move that may simplify factory ordering while shifting accessory bundling toward higher-option packages.
