PATTISON Outdoor Advertising has acquired Mark’s Media Group, a Greater Moncton outdoor advertising company, the company announced this week. The deal, effective June 1, 2026, adds billboard inventory to PATTISON’s Atlantic portfolio and strengthens its presence in New Brunswick’s largest city.

New signs in prime locations

The purchase brings an additional 11 digital and 2 classic billboard faces to PATTISON’s inventory in the region. Among the newly acquired assets are a prominent 10-foot by 40-foot digital superboard and two vertical digital screens situated in downtown Moncton, close to restaurants, retailers, hotels and other businesses.

“We are excited to welcome Mark’s Media Group’s inventory into our portfolio of Atlantic offerings,” said Steve McGregor, president of PATTISON Outdoor Advertising.

PATTISON executives said the acquisition effectively doubles the company’s digital presence in Greater Moncton and will improve market coverage for advertisers seeking visibility in the core of the city.

What this means locally

Advertisers operating in Moncton will now be offered additional digital out‑of‑home options concentrated in high‑traffic commercial areas, including the downtown corridor and the Mapleton retail district. PATTISON described the Main Street location as housing the largest digital screen in Atlantic Canada.

  • Added inventory: 11 digital and 2 classic faces
  • Key assets: 10' x 40' digital superboard, two vertical downtown screens
  • Effective date of the acquisition: June 1, 2026

PATTISON is a division of The Jim Pattison Group and is the country’s largest out‑of‑home advertising company. The firm said the acquisition will allow clients to leverage a broader and more dynamic network of digital screens and traditional billboards across Moncton.

Local marketers and business owners may see new opportunities for campaigns timed to peak retail and tourism periods. Municipal officials were not quoted in the company announcement, and no financial terms were disclosed.

As digital out‑of‑home inventory grows in the city, questions for local stakeholders will include how new displays fit with municipal signage policies, pedestrian and driver attention concerns, and potential impacts on smaller local media sellers. For now, PATTISON’s purchase marks a notable consolidation of outdoor advertising assets in Moncton.
